The recent fire is Hong Kong’s deadliest in decades, and it is deeply heartbreaking for our city to witness such loss.
Now it is time for Hongkongers to step up and help in any way we can. These small acts of kindness taken together can create a powerful impact for survivors and their families.
Donating Money or Supplies

- Donate to to trusted organizations such as Hong Kong Red cross
- Consider contributing to dedicated funds like the S.K.H Act of Love 1126 Fire Disaster Support Fund, which provides cash grants and essential supplies for victims of the Wang Fuk Court fire
- Certain NGOs and groups are collecting specific items.
- Food NGOs like Feeding Hong Kong are asking mainly for funds and clearly listed non-perishable foods as well as personal care items.
- Individual churches, community centers, and volunteer groups in Tai Po have run short-term collections for items like clothes, bedding, household goods, and other daily necessities. (Check with their official channels as they may only accept items confirmed through phone or advanced notice due to limited storage space)
Blood Donations

- Centres are calling for citywide help and there are numerous locations where donors can go to help. You can find the list of specific locations convenient for you HERE
- Mobile donation vehicles are also available, you can see the current schedule HERE
- Making an appointment ahead of time is suggested by calling the centre, the main hotline at 2710 1234, and via the eDONOR system or HK Blood mobile app
- Donors should be in good health, weigh at least 41kg, and be between 16 and 65 years of age for a first donation (with special rules for donors up to 75 who donate regularly)
- Donors aged 16-17 require parental consent for the first donation
- Every potential donor must pass a health screening, and fill out a form regarding questions on medical history, recent procedures, and travel
- Please note that a HKID and valid identity document is required
Volunteering and Community Support

- Offer practical help to friends and neighbours affected, such as temporary accommodations, meals, childcare, or help dealing with paperwork and logistics
- Support pet-related charities including the SPCA, HKSDCA, Catherines Puppies
- Registered with established charities to volunteer with, as they will be needing extra help and different ways
Small Businesses and Independent Brand Support

- Anyone with small businesses, solo entrepreneurs or independent creators can also play an impactful role in organising fundraisers or donating proceeds
- Local artist Labeg (Gabriel Lau) has announced he plans to launch and sell his new series at a popup art exhibit from December 1-15, with all donation proceeds going to Red Cross
Mental Health Support

- The Hong Kong Red Cross Psychological Support Service (PPS) provides psychological first aid, emotional support, and follow-up counselling to people affected by crises
- Public hospitals, NGOs, and some universities as well as churches offer low-cost or free counselling and helplines
- Join community groups, support circles organised by NGOs or neighbourhood networks, church communities to feel connected and supported through a shared sense of solidarity
- If you are a mental health professional, consider offering pro bono or low-cost support, joining crisis response initiatives, or volunteering with organisations that provide counselling and psychological first aid
Paying Respects
From November 29 to December 1, 2025 there will be official condolence points across 18 districts open to the public. This mourning period will offer both the public and bereaved families a shared space to grieve and show support to victims and survivors. Attendees can indirectly provide a meaningful form of support after this tragedy by leaving flowers, signing a condolence book, and taking a moment of silence to honor those who have passed.
Long-Term Aid
- Ongoing support in the next few weeks and months ahead will be needed, any extra hands will be appreciated, so please share any verified information to raise awareness
- Participate in community discussion and advocacy around building safety, fire regulations and support for public housing residents to reduce the risk of future disasters
