Hong Kong’s First Giant Christmas Balloon Parade Postponed

Hong Kong greets its first-ever Merry Balloon Parade, bringing larger than life character inflatables that will dance along the city’s famous harbour. 

Originally planned for late December, the parade has been rescheduled to a new date in response to the Tai Po fire, with organisers choosing to pause festivities.

We invite you to soak up breathtaking views in the new year, while enjoying a vibrant parade balloon parade show, and the joyful, playful energy this event hopes to bring.

When: Sunday, 11 January 2026; 11:30am-4pm

Location: West Kowloon Cultural District (along the Art Park waterfront promenade) 

Vibe: Colorful and photogenic festival spectacle with Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong’s iconic 

skyline as the backdrop

What to expect:

  • About 20 characters including Spongebob, Peppa Pig, Care Bears, Mr. Men & Little Miss, M&M’s, Paw Patrol and more floating along the waterfront
  • Merry Balloon Park at West Kowloon
  • Merry-Go-Around-Town (an AR balloon hunt and stamp collecting journey to unlock virtual character balloons, and collect e-stamps/postcard stamps at 9 hotspots around the city)
    • AIRSIDE at Kai Tak, Central Market, ELEMENTS, Hang Seng Bank HQ in Central, Merry Balloon Park/Waterfront in West Kowloon Cultural District and the Star Ferry piers in Central, Wanchai, and Tsim Sha Tsui
  • Pop-stores selling official merchandise such as limited-edition items and collectibles (at ELEMENTS Fire Zone and Merry Balloon Park)

Ticket details: Free viewing along most of the promenade, with ticketed entry for the Merry Balloon Park only (16 December 2025-11 January 2026).
