Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a first-timer, flying in for the occasion or simply in town around that time, this is truly an electrifying event worth experiencing. Known for its unparalleled energy and outrageous costumes at the epicenter of the party–the southstands. You’ll spot every popular choice and unique costume from dinosaurs and Waldos, to harajuku girls, Baywatch lifeguards, and inflatable air dancers, all while chanting amongst the crowd and singing famous rugby anthems.

Grab your Pimm’s and beers and celebrate in true Sevens style at Kai Tak’s biggest sports occasion.

Recommended Clothing:

  • Go sporting the team jerseys or wear airy clothing, comfortable footwear, top it off with some SPF 50+ sunscreen, and throw on those shades.
  • For those south-standers, you know what it’s all about. Start gathering inspo for costumes whether you plan to stand out solo or coordinate a themed look with a group.
  • Waterproof anything is ideal. Keep your phones, wallets, and chargers dry from sudden downpour, flying beers or other festival mishaps
  • Don’t bring anything you’re not prepared to lose!

Must-Do’s and Special Experiences:

  • The fan village offers an array of activities and musical acts to watch including live bands (such as the ABBA tribute band Bjorn Again), Djs (with Pete Tong headlining earlier this year), as well as dance performances.
  • Family friends stands and kids zones with mini matches, challenges/competitions, interactive games, and face painting.
  • If you’ve never braved the wild spirit and experienced being in the heart of the south stands, this is your chance to join an unforgettable party.
  • Witness the spectacular fireworks that conclude the Sevens on day 3.

Insider Tips:

  • Gates open between 7-8am depending on the day, so get there early to avoid the hour long queues at the south stands.
  • All concession stands and entirely cashless, accepting a range of digital payment methods
  • Plan the most convenient routes prior to going and beat the traffic and chaos.

More details on tickets will be released in November. You can opt for an individual day pass or the weekend pass. Members of any local Hong Kong rugby club get priority access, so inquire about registration and social membership to increase your chances to secure tickets as early as possible.

While we wait for the festivities to begin, start planning your schedules and keep an eye out for flight deals. The anticipation is building and the countdown begins, soon we’ll be belting out “Sweet Caroline” at the top of our lungs!
